A benchmark thread has been started on GoG. Crysis benchmarks are out, but they seem to be quite low.

Wooops .....Crysis have 64Bit Driver problem
So it's useless benchmark, until they try it on 32Bit system. -
if you don't know already, crysis does not support crossfire, which means that's benchmark of just one 3870.
-
-
should been faster equivalent to a 9800m gts, this site has crysis running crossfire http://www.parkoz.com/zboard/view.p...on&sc=off&divpage=1&keyword=&no=983&category= looks like it does run in crossfire pretty good, maybe with a hotfix
-
-
-
If crysis does not officially support crossfire, I assume it still takes advantage of the fact that you have dual GPUs, or am I totally wrong?
-
Even with just one 3870, it should score WAY higher than that.
Jeese, my 7950GTX did about the same -
-
I never realized crossfire was so limited. One of the main reasons I wanted to buy this laptop was to play crysis on a higher setting. -
-
I've read in the desktop forums here that the 8.8 drivers show a considerable increase in fps when using CF. Apparently anything pre 8.7 showed no difference in fps, as nirvana previously stated.
-
dam ati, they better release the correct drivers when this comes in, so far i dont see any drivers about mobility 3870 CF on amd.ati website
-
Some of those scores seem really low for Crysis considering all the hype that's coming out for this laptop.Hopefully when someone gets one with the correct drivers it will put up better numbers.
-
-
I hope so, I also had high expectations for this laptop, maybe to high.
-
You have to remember he has had this laptop in his possesion for less than 48 hours. It doesnt come with any drivers at all and only many of the other models that have had time to be tested to the fullest and foudn the BEST driver, the BEST settings. This hasnt had that luxury.
On top of that Duel crossfire. Even more tweaks that have to be done.
So be patient, as we are getting updated pretty much as things happen and everyone was DYING to see something out of a game. So he through it together as quickly as possilbe lets wait a few days for COD etc. and time to get drivers and tweaks before we throguh it in front of the bus. -
Believe me I am not trying to through it under the bus or anything because I am very interested in buying this laptop, hopefully in the next couple of days he will be able to get the best drivers to really see what this thing can do.It just sucks waiting!:twitcy:
-
Latest update after fiddling around with 11 different drivers, from Mark on crysis is an average of 43fps on 1024, high settings, vista 64 bit.
-
So since crossfire will not always work with every game, is there a way to know if it will work with a certain game? I don't plan to play Crysis, but games like maplestory, gunz, gunbound, etc.
Will crossfire work for these less graphic intensive games? -
You probally wouldnt even need it for those on high settings...
However, the main thing is when their release date was. Most new games will support it. -
-
Even a integrAted card could play those on max -
Update! 23rd (!) combination of drivers, and it's averaging at 48.5 FPS on high.
-
sweet! This thing is a beast
-
Another update, the system was benched with Crysis at 1920x1200, with all settings on high, and hit an average of 30.8 FPS.
That's a laptop running Crysis at high res at playable framerates!
Edit: resolution was 1920, not 1900 -
Now it show it's real power . Thanx Wormi -
For those who have just joined or havent been following there are some awesome pictures and a full thread of new updates here:

Some killer results so far. Also keep in mind all of this and crossfire still sint working 100% on Crysis. -
we should really start a "OCZ WHITEBOOK FAN CLUB" thing or a "K|N FANBOY".
though we'd prob get kicked in less than an hour -
I give credit where credit is due. Mark's pulled another first. -
Yea well its hard to post ifnormation from other sources, well because none of them have any =)
-
I really don't know about K|N. I was really interested in the laptop, and since he is the only one who actually has one, I simply requested a non-photoshopped photo of the laptop. That is, without the background cut out.
To see how it looks like in a real-life situation.
What I got was this "here is your un-photoshopped picture" attitude from K|N and the actual picture has the laptop below a huge Killer Notebooks neon logo which is all red, and you can't actually see the laptop.
So I'm sure I won't be buying from K|N. -
LOL. I thought it was hilarious. If you post pictures un photo shopped up before others get it. What happens is the entire internet whores it out and states that oh this is our laptop etc. Im sure if you request a picture in a private manner he will be more accomidating to you.
From a business view:
If you were the only one who had something and everyone else had no pictures of this laptop would you want them all stealing your picture and using it for their marketing benefit?
Anyways, your decesion on who you buy from. There are many great sellers on this forum, that maybe be more accomidating to your needs.
And if you dont want one that has had research, developement, tweaks, and it being maximized to to suit the games and programs you are going to use it for. Then K|N wouldnt be for you. -
So CF is working in some form in Crysis? I was told that CS is not possible on crysis, because it was not supported. -
Yes I will quote below:
"These are Crossfire numbers. I guess I failed to mention that before. This is one of the reasons with the system you will get all the Crysis files you need to set the game up properly with the system. I will build the script files you need into a setup program to install automatically."-Mark -

Yea Im not going to respond anymore since his first 2 post were:
who the hell plays at 1024x768... if im going to buy this laptop im going to be playing nothing lower than the native res, 1920x1200 for every single game. why do u even consider testing at that res with dual gfx come on now give us 1920x1200 no AA, high settings then we can talk...
yea... thats bull ****, killernotebook needs them drivers and crysis patch, btw people with np5796 runs crysis 1920x1200 medium wtih decent frame rate, why not 1920x1200 high on dual gfx.. if ati and crytek cant make this happen.. **** them and crysis, i play tf2/cod4 with CF enable -
Ah, I see. Thank you for the clarification on CF. Also mhopper, why do you think this system will be even more expensive in the following months? Doesn't tech usually get cheaper as time goes on?
-
This is just going out on a limb here...
I believe that someone will end realizing the value of these systems and the market will push up the price.
99% of the time something comes out then the price comes down.
However, with a few things competition in the beggining is quite fierce and you get a price war shich keeps system such as these undervalued. Then when the intial rush is over and there are no systems to be had. Since Im pretty sure this will sell out on the intial ship. Then the demand for these would go up.
I myself might be ordering quite a few of these chassis for when that demand hits. -
I see, very good point, thank you for your reply.
Also, I was wondering if anyone knew if it's possible to run the OCZ whitebook in a "low power" mode for just typing/surfing the internet. And thus reducing power consumption and maybe reducing fan noise as well. -
hes is not the first but hes the first official usa reseller mini review

Mark is doing a great service for everybody, I don't see anyone else doing any benchmark's or even giving any hands on info.

That'd be my guess about the driver issues. I also noticed he's using Vista Home Premium (32 bit) versus K|N Vista Ultimate (x64). Would that make a difference in how the drivers perform?
Crysis Benchmarks for ocz whitebook are out
