Thank you for the link. I went and saw their results. Killer notebooks is getting over 30% higher 3D06 scores! I didn't have a reference point to how much the things he was doing would vary from the competition until now.

Before this the only thing I had to go was the Crysis benchmarks at GoG. I saw him take that from pretty horrible numbers to double what they were. When people asked for higher resolution performance he delivered frame rates higher than the D901c review on NBR and explained that it was over cinema quality animation levels.

I have to admit I was a little skeptical until I saw your post and saw the competitions results. Wow! What a difference. That guy that posted those other benchmarks seems to know what he is doing, and he can't get the system even close to Killers? There is a post at GoG about it and if a picture is worth a thousand words...

man.. if only I could see the CPU score as well.. looks like the processor on the 'other guy' is running at ~1600-1699 or something where K|N appears to be close to 3k (2995 maybe) I would guess something is wrong with the cpu on the other test as I get a better score with my 2.33 processor.

Possibly, but if there were a difference, it would usually be in favor of the 32 bit OS. But I do believe that it's definately an issue with the drivers b/c Mark at Killer Notebooks also had to go through a batch of drivers during his encounter with the notebook, seeing as he didn't receive driver software with the evaluation notebook which he was given. The same I think is true for the other guy.

It probably turned out to be a good thing he didn't get any drivers.

as you can see the guy at xtremesystems is using different ati driver, most likely a crossfire driver, as to killernotebook his using ati 3870 x2 modded driver, look the 3dmark06 GFX, no X2 and X2, i just wish that is not the legit driver that will come with the system, i rather use the x2 driver now just because is faster from K|N results, but xtremesystems show 3dmark03 score which measure up to a GTX280 score some how..

I can't remember who requested single GPU benchmarks for the whitebook, but it's currently up for crysis.

That's exactly what I'm doing. It shouldn't be such a big issue, right? But when it comes with that sort of arrogance, that's an enough reason for me not to buy from somebody.

I'm sorry, were you quoting me above? I don't really remember when I wrote that, maybe you'd like to link me?

    edit:
Anyways, right off the bat: that's not my writing.
1st off: I try not to swear on these forums.
    2nd: I NEVER spell you as "u".
3rd: I use grammar. So it's "I'm" and not "im", "can't" and not "cant", capitalizing each word of a new sentence, etc.
4th: I can't remember the last time I misspelled "with" in this manner: "wtih"

I read your post when you requested the picture to judge the thickness of the machine.
I saw a real picture posted of the system sitting on a desk, powered on, showing the normal Vista wallpaper and icons without the back ground removed. (see below).

There were pictures posted on the pages prior to your request of various notebooks from the side and one on top that showed the thickness of this machine. I thave never seen two notebooks set up like that to see the differences. There was a new thread stared so people could easily find the pictures (as these threads get off track fast I see).

I think the atmosphere is much more informal over there. You asked for a picture and you got a picture of what you asked for. I also think that MHooper is right in that he must have pulled some strings and paid some $$$ to get a hold of this thing first. I think the background was deliberately chosen so someone wouldn't steal the picture. Maybe that's just his desk and he cleared it off and took a picture. If you wanted a picture of the notebook sitting next to a can of beans, you should have asked for that.

Instead of wasting so much energy on this, why not just ask for the picture you want in a new thread so it isn't lost in the 30 some odd pages of benchmark requests there? Either way, this has become a flame war for no reason. Can we move on with the topic which is benchmarks.

Speaking of which, where's the Unreal Tournament Benchmarks already!!!

    Dear Mr. Cdnalsi,

The quotes above I think are what Mark was posting the pictures above in regards too.

The screenanme Killerfocker posted on page 25 of the thread. I dont think those pictures were posted in regards to your request.

That is why I was quoting them. Sorry i cpoied and pasted wasnt direting that the comment of "So what do we call your first 2 post".

In any event if you ask mark for the picture scheme you want Im sure you will get it.

I see your post not, sorry I skimmed over it as there are so many post lol.

Anyways good luck on what you are looking for and when I get mine I will take the pictures you want/need if you dont ask him before hand =)

Edited my forst post as it doesnt pertain to this thread and you still have it in quotes for refrence.
Also if you want if I missed something PM me so we can keep the rest of the thread clean.

Have a good day bud sorry for any confusion.

Does anyone know if the CPU is upgradable at all. I realize that almost all CPUs are never upgradable, but I thought I'd just ask to make sure. I'm planing on keeping this laptop for at least 5-6 years, with upgrades being made around year 3 if they are cost effective.

The CPU is upgradeable, but only with other Penryn CPUs - so you most likely won't be able to find any 3 years from now.
