    I have a dead subpixel but since I only notice it when I look concentrated at its location I don't care.

    There are eight possible failure states for one single pixel. Since there are 1280*768 = 983040 pixels you have 7.86 million possible single pixel failures for you screen.

    Pretty cool if you have no dead/stuck pixels but no tragedy IF there is one. It's a Class II screen so you HAVE to accept:

    * 2 dead pixels
    * 2 stuck pixels
    * 5 dead or stuck subpixels
    * at most 1 dead OR stuck pixel per 5x5 pixel square
    * at most 2 dead OR stuck pixel per 5x5 pixel square

    if you just got your laptop, you can return it, and get a new one free of charge. if not, you have to live with it.
