I just noticed that the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xplorer X5-7930 is on a Compal FL90 platform. I was looking at ordering a Dell but I would not get it until Jan 15 and thats shipped to Hawaii. I would order it through newegg so no delay in shipping.

    Opinions?

Do you want the IFL90, or the FL90?

There are certain advantages to the IFL90, like a better case and power panel...and the PowerPro J 10:15 (IFL90) comes standard with a 3 Year Warranty w/Next Business Day shipping paid both ways and a free upgrade to 2nd Day Air when shipping to Hawaii...you could have it by next Friday.

No, not the same at all.

The IFL90 is the Channel version and has a different and much nicer case LCD cover, heat sensitive power panel buttons and is otherwise more feature rich (for example the 1280x800 screen has 512MB vs. the VBI version FL90 that only has 256MB).

The FL90 is the more stripped down VBI (verified by Intel) version. You can do a search on VBI in this forum to find some issues that plague the VBI program.

The neweg page does not have information about the chipset present in this laptop? Is it the Intel PM965 like very similar brands/models?

Wow I like this Compal a lot. The only issues I have is that I can't get the fingerprint reader to work on websites and Vista is either dragging a little or I expected too much from the T7500.

CPU-Z will not tell you which video card you have. It will tell you about the chipset controller in the motherboard but that's all. Use the everet application from lavalys to verify the components in your laptop.
