Mine will be recieved (via tracker) on 26 February. It is pretty much vanilla, with the exception of the SSD I added. In advance, please list questions youd like answered.
PLEASE REMEMBER!: I am not *really* a gamer. Was looking for a desktop replacement that would last 3-4 years. I am not all that tech savvy, but can take pictures as I unbox. If you want me to run benchmarks, I can probably figure that out. Just help an "old guy" out with some links.
Listed below is the spec as ordered.

I actually BOUGHT this beast for $1188 and some change. HOW? Well...somewhere...somehow...I got a 5% discount. May have been military, dont remember. Additionally, I used a 10% of discount from using my STAR card through the AAFES site...veterans know what Im talking about. So, yeah, a hell of a deal if its the quality thats advertised.
I'll keep this post updated.

In case you're curious, the X7 is essentially a MSI GT70 (1762 barebone) with Cyberpower branding
Visit the MSI section if you want better info on the machine.
Nice specs though! The SSD should be blazing fast and the speakers are some of the best laptop speakers around
Did you get a free tablet too? -
To be fair, as well, I really don't care for the look of the PC. As a grown up, it looks like a Transformer that may have some some of genetic disease...but functionality is what I found appealing. And price point. I feel like I'm walking on a tight-rope as far as quality goes (yet to be determined), since I only learned after the fact that CyberpowerPC has a VERY mixed track record in terms of quality/customer service. We'll see how this goes. -
Awesome, hopefully it turns out well. The GT70 is a solid machine, but it appears cyberpower made some changes to the case. Definitely let us know how it turns out. If you decide its too "transformer", you might check out Sager/Clevo machines. Right up there in performance, options, and build quality but with more professional looks.

1) I hate Windows 8
2) Packaging was professional if not robust.
3) Literature, or getting started material, was minimal.
4) *Received a free 7" dual core tablet. Sold it for $150 to a battle buddy
5) The computers initial observations of chassis, is it is mostly plastic, but with little flex. Appearance is "meh." I could never see me taking this out of my home for professional purposes. It is a desktop replacement that will travel with me on business in the hotel room.
6) Currently downloading 3DMARK11...I was asked by a buddy to use it...so Ill give ya'll my score soon.
Any other questions?
Oh...we loaded WoW...and while I don't play, and it's an old game, it was running at 68-120 fps maxxed out. Or so I was told!

Im planning to buy Fang X7-100 aswell but cant decide due to mixed reviews of Cyberpower customers.
But surely its the best you can get for that much, only Sager NP9150 would come any close if only comparing the performance with cost, So how is your Notebook doing? I am really interested in knowing the temperatures under load and how is the cooling and battery timings -
-
-
I am looking at the Fangbook X7-300 but I can't decide between this or the Alienware m17 r4. While no 17 inch laptops are really "portable" the Fangbook looks very bulky. -
+4 Also ordered one with 675mx in it, but set to deliver on March 11. The coupon "spring4010" bring me 5% discount.
-
Can Anyone really give the needed details about Fangbook please? Im really considering it but cant find anyone with info about it, the guy who made this post is not around i guess

any feedback on this system? Im looking at it currently
-
The case looks good to me and I think it looks better than other 1762 bareboons. However, like the other MSI bareboon systems, all the materials used is hard plastic. The palm rest area looks and feels a little bit like brushed aluminium, which is good. The keyboard area and the exterior surface use the same material and would not catch finger print easily.
The illumination of keyboard is just OK. Unlike branded MSI or Lenovo Y500, the illumination is not that bright. You can barely see it if you use it outdoor. But the red color looks really cool if using in dark places.
The main cons is that the fan could get very noisy during full load. It's as loud as my old laptop plus a cooler.
But the cooling is really good consider the power consumption of the laptop. It never go beyond 75C when overclocking and with stock frequency, never reach 70C.
If there is anything else you interested about the laptop, please tell me. -

The result is an OC result with core +380, memory +500.
The FPS with all ultra settings on:
COD9:around 60+, no OC
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier : around 40 with OC
Crysis2: 40 without OC
battle field 3: 55, with OC
Crysis3: around 25 with OC, 18 without, GPU usage is unstable with or without, I think it is the game. I'll try to get a newest version of the game recently.
Assassin´s Creed III: 35+ with OC
Far Cry 3: 30+ with OC, GPU -
thats some impressive scores, same as 680m on stock
and actually thats some serious overclocking there, did you flash the bios with some custom vbios? Since i heard MSi afterburner is locked for +130mhz on core clock, what software did you use?
how were the temps on this overclock with load?
im actually ready to buy this fangbook after looking at your scores and overclocking potential -
Then, you can just use afterurner to overclock it to +545 for core frequency.
The only problem is that for games based on cryEngine, such as crysis3 and Far Cry 3, I always get unstable GPU usage if I overclock it to more than +200 on core frequency. I think it seems the issue of the game.
For the most crazy OC like +380, memory +500 on Ghost Recon, the temp goes as high as 82C. Often around 80C. Without OC, it drops to around 70C.
I think it is a decent deal, you can make the most of the money you pay. So what's you budget? I'm also not sure about the power consumption and heat problem if you go with 680m, but I think it maybe a better choice because you get a more stable performance . -

im actually going with 675mx, budget is 1350-1400.. any other laptops in the market arent as cheap as this, its impressive performance for what you pay. and looking at you managed to get 6200 its as good as 680m on stock.. about cryengine, atleast crysis 3 is still having problems and they need a patch.
im actually impressed with the overclocking potential, though ill only go as far as minor overclocking and trying not to exceed 80C.
ill be buying this beast very soon.by the way is the keyboard really anti-ghosting?
and i heard speakers on this notebook are kind of not good?
and thank you for informationguess you answered all the questions i had.
-
I just tried two more games, all maxed at 1080:
Hitman: Absolution: around 27, core+400, memory + 500
Sleeping Dogs : around 25, core+400, memory + 500
Very stable OC, you actually get the 7970m in stock performance for those games. I'm quite sure the problem is with Cry Engine.
I'm not sure how to test if it is an anti-ghosting. But the keyboard is pretty responsive. And the type feeling is also very good.
For the speakers, I think all MSI barebone use the same audio system as the branded MSI right? Although I'm not very sensitive to sound, I think they are very good.
For overall performance, I think it is a great deal and there is no match in the market now, not even closer. I use the SSD come from my old laptop. So without ordering the windows OS, the system is just 1230 including everything. Good luck with your purchase! -
Anti ghosting can maybe checked in Need for speed MW 2012 by pressing more then 3 buttons at a time (Like spacebar for hand brake and multiple combination of Up and Right etc..)
Well im purchasing it with Win7 Home Premium which ill format upon arrival since ive Win7 ultimate DVD.. only reason im going for a OS is seriously that i want them to run the fangbook after configuring the hardware so before they send it out atleast they do check it. ( imho i believe they dont really stress test the notebook for 72 hours)
Dont know what should i do since im wasting 70$ just to make sure i recieve everything in working order. -
I think you do not have to order that. My system come with a Windows 8 although I do not order one. However the system is not activated. And because the system come with 2 HDD bay, I guess they would run some test maybe using the other bay. Because it cost about 2 days after my system assembled to past their 2 quality control stages.
What I would do is email them to make sure they would do some stress test even you do not order a OS. I guess you can save $70 by doing that -

thank you
maybe i can save those 70$
ill be ordering a 64GB SSD and 750gb storage HDD, do you think there will be Windows 8 installed ( doesnt matter if activated or not ).
Can you mail for me? or give me their email so i can ask if unactivated windows 8 will be there
i actually asked them regarding stress test, they said they will install an OS and perform stress test and then remove the OS, i dont want them to remove the OS even if its not activated
and by the way is unactivated OS available for use for some days? -
