After finally finding a program to record to DVD, I burned some photos to DVD, but now, no program will play them back on DVD. Any ideas on how to get around this?
I used the pre-installed Cyberlink DVD program, as I couldn't find any other application to perform this task (all the others were only for a CD) and a Verbatim DVD-R blank DVD. It showed that the JPGs were burned to the DVD, however, when I tried to see the images that had been burned to the DVD, there was no way I could access those images. This of course, will make the whole process useless if I can't get around it.
I couldn't figure out if there is something wrong with the computer, the application, or what.
My computer is still relatively new and under warranty. I could still get it fixed/returned if there is a problem. But first I am trying to resolve it. I'm certainly not an expert in this arena.
Thanks.

Could you be a little more specific in what the issue is?
How do u play back a photo... if you do the same w/ a CD, you would get the same result.
Do you mean that you recorded them in a way that you put the pictures in a VOB file, and set it up for play on a physical DVD Player? or that you just burnt a bunch of JPG's on a DVD, and then wanna run it.

sk137,
I wouldn't go thinking that there's a problem with the computer, just because it wont open the files you burned. If you can play CD's/DVD's and burn CD's /DVD's, then it's unlikely you have a hardware (or even software) issue. It's more likely an issue of figuring out what file type you saved and burned those pics AS, then opening them with the proper program.
I have personally experienced the ability to not view files (pictures) burned from another system. But I was eventually able to open and view.
Being new to the whole thing, "I'm certainly not an expert in this arena", I would suggest playing around a little before you spent the time returning or attempting to repair something.
Cheers!

HI - Thanks for your feedback. I have in fact played around with the applications a great deal, but with no success.
I also called Averatec support, no useful advice. I've tried to open the PPP file with every application on the computer. Given that I burned the DVD with the software on this computer, it makes sense that that same software would allow me to open the file, but it doesn't. It just takes me back to the same application to burn.
I also had another issue - the computer sometimes doesn't come out of standby without rebooting. I lost a few hours of work. Customer support suggested I download a Service Pack patch to fix the problem, which they had been suggesting to people with wireless problems!! There is no patch for hibernation problems, and the 'technician' mentioned a number of people had called in with this problem.
