I have an Averatec 3250. Device Manager->Modems says
"Smart Link 56K Modem", and status is "working properly".
Diagnostics->query modem results in "success" with
    many other details.

I run the "New Connection Wizard" and select "Connect to Internet",
then "set up my connection manually". On the screen that follows,
the bullet "Connect using a dial-up modem" is greyed out.
Same for the second choice, "broadband connection with password".
Only "Connect using a broadband connection that is always on" is
    available.

Wirless and Ethernet connections work fine. OS is windows xp home
with SP-2. Anybody know why I can't select "dial-up connection"
from the wizard or have an alternative way to set up a dial up connection?

    Thanks
