    Hello folks,

I am new to this site and what an excellent site it is. I just wanted to know what is the difference between the Compal IFL90 and the Compal FL90?

Hope its not a silly question I don't have much experience with Compal although I have 1 myself.

    Thanks Henry

The FL90 has buttons on the top right corner, the IFL90 has thermal sensor keys.

One other thing. Besides the cosmetic differences (glossy black lid vs. dark blue lid), the FL90 also lacks a fingerprint reader.

CFL90965PM1 wxga, 256 vram, no finger print
CFL90965PM2 wsxga, 512 vram, (and finger print?)

Anyway, the bottom line is, the FL90 is the older model.

Alright, I stand corrected. I wasn't aware of different versions. Thanks for the information.

By the way, just wondering, is the casing still the same for all models? (Dark blue lid, and grey power USB buttons).

I'm color blind, the lid looks black to me, and the USB power button is black as well, the drawing is grayish, I have an IFL90, though.

No, I mean the FL90 has a dark blue lid, and grey buttons. I have an IFL90 as well and it has a glossy black lid and black buttons. I was just wondering if the different versions of the FL90 were cosmetically different.

Also, I thought the FL90 was merely the European version of the IFL90, only differences being cosmetic and the fingerprint reader. It wouldn't be the older model.

FL90 is not exactly the European version, it's more like Intel CBB standard version made to be sold separately as a computer part. I build up a machine for a friend a week ago with PM1.
And all three FL90 variants were planed from the very start, since a saw them all in pricelist of it4profit from June last year.
By the way a just saw FL90 motherboard for salethere there. :)

Yep, FL90 is a version for Intel CBB/VBI program.

IFL90 is a version for resellers that will put their own brand on it (ie. Sager).
