I doubt this is a zepto only issue but I thought I'd post here anyway. On my mousepad (the one on the actual laptop, dunno the correct name for it), I can click by either pressing the button or by tapping on the actual pad.

Is there a way I can disable the clicking on the pad. It really annoys me like when I'm typing something up and my hand hits the pad and the mouse cursor moves somewhere else and I start typing in a completely random place.

    cheers

(happened twice while typing this haha)

P.S. its the 6224w if that makes any difference

PPS Also i realise you can disable the whole on board mouse I don't want to do that every time I have to type something

I have spoken to our chief, Joebutcher. You can only disable the mouse completely and not inbetween

You could consider using a USB mouse?

I'm actually surprised that you say it cannot be "disabled"...
I disabled the tapping on my old Zepto 4200, which was years back
Are you completely sure it cannot be done?

It can be disabled in the driver settings for the Synaptics software and then under "tapping", we do recommend you disable the touchpad with the Fn+F6 hotkeys instead as this is a better solution that the software based one.

But Fn+F6 will switch off the whole touchpad. He wants to use the touchpad but not the tapping function which - as you said - can be disabled in the driver options.

As René says. It can be disabled in the Synaptics driver by disable "tapping". But you should note that this option is only avalible in newer versions of the driver so you may have to upgrade it.

Thanks guys. Where can I find the option, I had a look around in control panel and everything? The drivers I have are just the ones I installed from the CD when I got my laptop a few week ago, dont remember if there were any mouse drivers. Where can I find the new ones?

Thank you so much. I am so glad this is fixed. Is this type of thing common on all laptops? I cannot believe more people do not find this annoying. That was pretty much my only complaint about the whole laptop.

Yeah it's pretty common :) depending on model and placement of the touchpad
