I use a mouse with my HEL80, meaning I have no use of the touchpad. It's also pretty annoying to have the mouse pointer move around and click occassionally when I type (I have big hands :p ) so a way of disabling the touchpad and the "mouse" buttons entirely would be nice :)

There is no "touchpad off" button like there is on the S96J/Z96J?

Sorry to bring this up again, but this issue is bigger concern for me then I expected. I have the HGL30 and occasionaly tapping the touchpad with my thumb is realy annoying. I actualy expected it to switch of automaticaly when I connect my external mouse, but it wasn't that case. Any way to switch it off?

I believe you can switch it off in your device manager. The only thing is that it will reactivate with each reboot, so you'll have to deactivate every time you restart.

I'm curious how one would go about disabling the touchpad. I see uninstall in the CP, but not disable.

If there's any bored code monkeys out there, I found a site that I think would help someone to develop a quick script to disable something. That would be a REALLY cool thing to share with the group.. HINT HINT..

Edit: I took a quick stab at it using C:\WINDOWS\system32>devcon remove @ACPI\PNP0F13\* but I was informed that it required a reboot to remove the device..

Utility like that would be VERY much appreciated. Drives me nuts, when i find out I've been typing over my previously writen text.. Or shooting when sneaking up on someone in CS:S for that matter :)

If you installed the touchpad driver, go into control panel... select mouse, then select the TouchPad tab, then check the box near the center for disable touchpad while typing.

Will this work for the external mouse also? Or gaming for that matter? Like will it be dissabled if I press WSAD to move in CS:S?
