Hello, everybody. I also come back from averatec-forums. I found out recently about its dissapearance when I tried to communicate about my succesful repair of the power jack, which someone else might find useful.

The connector of my 4 years old Averatec 3225HS started to fail intermitently a few months ago, and started to get really hot also. I decided to attempt the repair myself, since warranty is long ago expired. It was not difficult at all. I put up a small webpage with my experience and pictures, in case somebody needs encouragement. It's at guillermoabramson.110mb.com/averatec, photos and detailed instructions (sorry, the site doesn't allow me to link at my first post...).

The venerable 3225 is working superbly again. Great small lappy.

    Regards!

    Guillermo
