    G'day,
I recently purchased a 6200 whilst deployed in Iraq. It was working great and I was enjoying it immensley when it decided to stop working. THe machine had stopped accepting power from the power supply. I've tried power supplys from other laptops and they make no difference. The machine still worked on what power was left in the battery but I was unable to charge it. I then noticed that when I tilted the laptop I could hear something small sliding around. I therefore assumed that something had come lose in the power side of things.
This all happened outside of the 15 day return period that AAFES has and a few days before I was to return to Australia.
I'm now back in Aust and I've decided to have a go at dimantling the machine myself. So far I have removed the DVD drive and all screw from the bottom of the case. I have begun to prise the case apart (a small screw fell out at this point so that's what was rattling about) but there are a few places where it does not want to come apart.
    I have two scenarios
    1. I'm a wuss and I am not applying enough force?
    2. The are other components that need to come of first? Like the screen?

So is there anyone out there that has pulled one of these apart and can give me some advice in what I need to do?

    Any help appreciated

    Darren

There is the possiblility that the power device in the laptop has fried or something. I had a similar occurance with the first 6100 i got. Except for me, it wouldn't turn on from either batt or cord. When i put my ear next to where the power cord plugged in, i could hear a high pitched whining of sorts. But no turning on. Luckily i was able to take it back as this happend on my second day of owning it. So in the end you may not be able to actually repair it yourself.

THe fact that the little screw fell out when I had it pulled apart as far as I have has given me some hope.
