It'll probably be a few more months before Core Duo barebones systems are available. Unfortunately, Dell has a proprietary format for its graphics cards, so that 7800 won't fit in anything except another Dell.

That processor should be fine for most applications; games are less processor-dependent than they are GPU-dependent.

For the most part, you can't upgrade the graphics card in a notebook; you're stuck with whatever part comes with the barebones system.

No. The only systems that even have a modular graphics card are systems that have MXM cards, like my KN1, some Sagers, and Dells, which use a proprietary format. While MXM is theoretically upgradeable in the future, there are no MXM cards for sale; it's more of a feature to simplify assembly of laptops. The short of it all is that you can't choose your graphics card independently of choosing your laptop.
