I'm looking into the PowePro HEL-80, but I did not notice if there is a modum due to I live on a ranch that has dial-upVerizon will not replace the old phone line, which will not hold/run DSL.)
Thank You,

Yeah it does. PowerNotebooks lists it as "Built in Agere 56k V.90/V.92 MDC Fax/Modem" on their specs page. The port is on the back of the laptop if you look in the pictures.

A Port Replicator is a device that you plug into the back of your notebook into which you plug all of your peripherals, like your printer, external keyboard and mouse, scanner, USB devices etc. When you are ready to take your notebook with you as you leave you simply unplug your notebook from the Port Replicator and off you go, instead of having to unplug each of your peripherals from the notebook, and then of course instead of having to plug each of them back in when you return, you just plug your notebook back into the Port Replicator.

Thank You Paladin I will contact you when I'm going to order one, sometime soon I hope. I'm still looking around but your laptops look like what I want.

The modem works in Windows. I think I may have found a driver for it for Linux, but I'm not sure yet.
