Being just a little bigger than the EEE PC from Asus, more powerful and just $100 more, could this be the EEE PC's major competition? Granted the brand name ins't very well known though...

It's the Everex Cloudbook rebranded. Pretty good reviews.

Thing that makes the EEE PC so amazing is the low price..

for 500 you could get all kinds of other things.

it also fails to mention the HDD specs and it has no pointing device.

I would not buy this, i'd get an EEE PC

    hey! another PCCyber fan!

Love that store. Stittsville location is a bit small, but they can order any product on their website.

They used to have the best iPod prices in Ottawa, but they've dropped away from that since the current gen came out. They had the ipod touch for $299 for a short while (everywhere else it was $329)

Its a 4200rpm 1.8" 30 gig drive... The same that was in 3rd gen ipods. Also, it does have a pointing device... see that tiny, itsy bitsy postage stamp sized square below the keyboard? between those 2 buttons? Yeah, thats not some cosmetic flare... its the touchpad. I doubt its comfortable, but its still probably usable. Not too big of a issue though, since:
If you need to do anything too precise, you can just use your finger.

I'm pretty hyped about this. Its FAR better then the re-make everx/packard bell is making, since they dropped the touchscreen, modular skype/gps/travel clock thing, and moved the touch pad up above the keyboard.

Id like to get it locally though. Something this small and 'iffy'(i REALLY dont trust the brand... especially since packard bell sees fit to make their own version. Everything they touch seems to brake :p) should be as easy as dropping off to get returned. I dont want to deal with shipping it back, and being unfamilair with the sellers guarantees. They all say they'll cover any/all defects, but id still rather deal with a place like bestbuy/thesource/walmart, so i can speak directly with someone.

I'd get an Eee because of lack of moving parts (=

Oh wait, I already have one!

I've been following these for awhile. A similar model is going to be release in the US, as a developer edition of the Cloudbook.

For me, this thing would run a hundred fifty more, than I paid for my Eee. The price is one of the really appealing aspects of these small machines. If this and the Eee were priced equally, I'd have to think about it. As it stands, my cheapness wins out.
