First time poster long time reader...

My EL80 does not want to power up. I have an orange (not green) battery light when the AC power supply is used. I get no response when I press (and hold) the power button. If I try and use battery only, the orange battery light flashes 4 times and goes out when I press the power button.

I figure the battery (BATEL80L9 11.1 V 7200mAh) is dead. If there is any additional info/comments on my issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanx

Try unplugging both the battery and AC and holding the power button for about 15 seconds. This does a "power drain" and gets rid of any odd power states the laptop may be stuck in. Then plug in AC only and try powering on. Let me know if that helps :)

    Thanx for the reply.

I tried what you suggested. I did the "power drain", plugged in the AC, and tried powering on to no avail. I then plugged the battery back in only and received the same 4 flashes as before. I plugged both in and got the same orange battery light (steady) as before.

Is there anything else that might help?
