The problem with ISO is that you have to burn new disk each time. I prefer to format USB to boot DOS once and just copy or delete any files on it later. Makes running of any DOS program real easy and fast.
-
you can use a rewritable disk, like cd-rw or dvd-rw.
-
do you have to update each version or will the latest one make all previous changes?
-
not sure, I have en EL80. but from what I hear/read, you should be fine updating from the lowest one up. double check in release notes - from what I remember, nothing was said in those about updating from lower versions to the newest available.
-
Bought mine not to long ago, might already be loaded on. where can you check the version number?
-
When you press F12 when booting your notebook.
First fiels you see should give you the info your looking for. -
turns out I have 1.12 so guess i don't need to worry about loading all previous. So all I need to do is burn the 1.13 iso to a CD and boot from CD drive?
-
yep, that's the story. tho you probably should be advised against updating your bios, in case all works as expected. not as troublesome on notebooks with battery power I'd imagine, but having a power cut when upgrading a standard pc without a UPS can have bad results, hence the 'do-if-you-must' approach being common.
-
Correct don't update if everything is working fine.
-
This a first time I've ever heard of this as someone says do you have to update all the versions of the bios ? I've always thought just the newer bios and that should be it until next time a new one comes out, so whats the truht on this are you really suppose to have all those bios up dates or just the final?
I like the way dell had made there bios upgrade upgradable , one click , I don't know if ASUS does it anymore but they use to have a utility also. -

These are for the IFL90/91 (Znote 3415W/3215W) and IFT00/01 (Znote 3414W/3214W) so yes they work fine for the Compals as the Znotes are rebranded Compals.
