Im trying to get a Zepto 6214W with Vista to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R without shutting down. It had occationally crashed in Medieval II before, otherwise it never had problems (except the nvidia thing, but thats a windows software issue)

Naturally I suspect the fan needs cleaning perhaps changed.

    Vista Ultimate
    Zepto Znote 6214W BIOS v1.21
    Intel T2600
    2x 1 Gig 667mhz
Geforce Go 7600 v160.03 (Excellent Vista drivers btw! I use them on my 6615W with great success)

So I was hoping someone here had tried to change a fan on a 6214W?

What are your GPU temperatures when you are idling on desktop and while in a game?

I was under the impression that the 6214W couldnt be accurate measured by programs like mbm.

I like to think that Rivatuner reads my 7600's temps correctly. Idling it usually hangs around 60 degrees, and while playing for example HL2 temps jump to 95-101 degrees. I think my 6314W has rebooted once 'coz of high temperatures :(

Once? I can run Counter-Strike: Source with most settings at low and FPS capped at 60 and still get reboots after 10 minutes of playtime. Mine's already been in for repairs once and they claimed it ran 3d-Mark06 for more than 24 hours straight. Came home, fired up Counter-Strike, crashed after 15 minutes. :p

Well, this laptop has only crashed once on me (excluding windows freezes) while playing HL2, and i remember looking at the temps, which were over 100 degrees. So i figure it must have booted because of too high temperatures.

Though i've been playing NWN2 for a while (just finished it), like 1,5 months and it never crashed during that time, temps only were like 75-85 degrees. Weird, since i had to drop some graphical settings lower to get 30 fps. Maybe FPS games are most demanding on the GPU.
