My averatec 4100 was damaged from my little brother spilling water on it, It would turn on but keyboard was damamged.
Perchased it from Futureshop Canada a year ago, so warranty was no longer valid - me being extra cautious (my first laptop) forked out an extra $3xx.00 for 2 years extended warranty. Never thought that I would ever have to use it but its better to be safe then sorry.

So anyways, I brung it back to futureshop thinking that won't even bother dealing with water damaged item. They took it in within a week later I was contacted telling me that I could pick up my laptop. Turns out they (futureshop or averatec - not sure) replaced it with a brand new keyboard, cleaned the heat sink etc. for me no charge at all.

    I'm very grateful.
