    My old Nvidia 8600GT died, so I order a new one...
    a received a new one with Hynix memos.. so this model exists? it's a fake?
    if isn't, there's any secret way to perform a BIOS update that I can use the new video board?
    I already try some updates but no success, so I really need some help right now..

    (maybe I've spend my last AS 5 with a fake?)

    Thank you

    Why wouldn't it exist? Hynix is just a memory maker among others. But be aware that it might not work if it is anything different than the original model. If the card doesn't work and you can send it back you can have mine for $20 :D but be aware that it is likely to fail again some time later.

    lol, but the videoboard is running okay?
    30US$ you send for me here in Brazil?
    Thanks for the offer I'm really considering..

    but just to keep the post on.. my brother had the same problem.. than he sent the notebook to the reseller support and they installed a new one.. the difference now is that his notebook (fl90) is using ft00 1.10 bios.. i tried to install the same BIOS but when it's turning on 5 secs later turn off...

    any guess?

    Thanks

    I know I came across similar notes many times; it's just first I remembered of.

    Some more:

    Well, I found 3 common things:
    1) put the board on some kind of stand, so that elements wouldn’t directly contact the metal parts;
    2) heat the card until 220-250 degrees C for ~10minutes;
    3) let it cool down naturally without moving it.

    Personally I recommend putting GPU upwards.

    I tried that baking thing, old graphics cards do not like it. My graphics card was from about 2000, and the oven charred my ATi 9700 in my Compal CL-56. The actual components were popping off the graphics card. I had about a dozen surface mount components jump off the PCB
    Just beware that you can and may destroy your graphics card more by baking it.

    It important not to move it a bit while doing the process, and certainly not to overheat it. By strictly following this rule, chance of coming of elements does come to minimal.

    By the way, I just remembered, my first VGA until I got MoBO replayed was with Samsung memo chips, and after that, there were hynix, which did suck in overclocking, but since at that time I was already aware, that gaming on this laptop, does kill the video adapter, I never used 3D on it again. But since I don't have much free time at work and do use separate desktop gaming system at home, this does not make me much problem. Also, I noticed, that the chipset on the MoBo is 965GM now. I wonder if taking the VGA off would activate it. :)

    Thank you.. but this is the IFT00 version, I need the FL90.. at this moment I cant boot, I believe that I should down date the bios versions on FL90 until I get a booting one.. then I'll use a eprom model flag reset to be allowed to set the FT00 version.. i'm really on trouble now..

    by the way, any idea of what to do?
    again, my Nvidia 8600 died, then I buy a new one but the memos are of other brand, Samsung before, now Hynix.. at the first try I could boot but I wasn't getting the video, then I updated the bios for the IFT00 1.10 version, at this moment I can't boot.. I turn the machine on, but 3-5 secs later it turn off...

    I believe that Hynix memos are Gddr3 instead of gddr2, and if I can reset my model in eprom than I can boot with video..

    any guess?

    They all have the same BIOS, so you can use that one. IFT0X & IFL9X, JFT02/JFL92, all the same...
