    Hey,

first sry for my bad english, i am from germany. :p

So I just "modded" my fl90 with the hd3650 ddr2 512mb and everthin runs fine. There is just one major problem. The fan does not react on tempretures of the gpu, means:

    - cpu is on 50degres and the fan goes slow
    - cpu on 60degres - fan is on like 50%
    - cpu on 70degres - fan is on like 80%
--> gpu reaches 70degres and cpu is on 47 degres - fan does nothin
--> gpu reaches 80degres and cpu is on 47 degres - fan does nothin
--> gpu reaches 90degres and cpu is on 47 degres - fan does nothin
--> gpu reaches 100degres and cpu is on 47 degres - fan does nothin

importan point: the heatsink is gettin very hot too, so i guess there is not problem in transportin the heat to the passive cooling device.

I'm usin the 10.12 cataclyst (not mobility modded, so the normal mobility one from ati), a 1.18 fl90 bios, windows 7 64bit and the vgabios is: 010.088.000.010.028990

    Thx for ur help
    greetings nyom

    Hi.

That is because the fan in FL90 is controlled only on the basis of the CPU temperature. Thus, running tests that put extreme load on GPU only (like e.g. furmark) could lead to a situation in which your GPU would be fried (especially after overclock). If you are on a 32 bit system you can use a program which is called Notebook Hardware Control through which you can manually control the fan speed. There isn't a 64bit version of NHC at this moment though.

    Cheers,

RMClock can do this, too, I think.

Never tried any of these ...

    Good luck!

As far as I know RMClock is unable to do this (at least for me on Compal FL90 and Win7 64bit) - I've looked pretty hard for this option and did not find it.

I really liked the NHC for its ACPI control - I forced the fan to run on maximum constantly (I don't mind the sound - I usually listen to music while using the laptop). Thanks to this my CPU idled at 38*C and stressed at ~65*C (with undervolting). As for GPU - 46*C Idle, 73 *C Stress (Win XP 32bit).

I really wish that the authors of NHC would speed up their release of 64bit version, because I'm seriously considering going through all the hassle of installing a new OS (this time Win7 32bit) just to get this one program to run...

Maybe this could help. (scroll to the bottom, scenario 3) Fujitsu
Or you can wire your fan to a USB port power.
