Hi, does anybody know if Compal has plan to make the FL90 support penryn-based cpus?
-
there have been many threads about this..
the new ones will work with a bios update from them (which isn't out yet)
they will have a new model notebook with montevina later most likely.. to support the faster FSB penryn natively has -
As I remember there was some BIOS version change that had something about 45nm Intel processor support. I wouldn't be surprised if IFL90 supports them already, but it's better to try once. Maybe someone has a chance to test it with 1.13 bios?
-
I can confirm that the FL90 with Bios 1.14 is running without any problems with T9300 ES CPU!

1.14 heh? Where do you find it?
-
1.14 is already flashed on my new Fl90 Barebones.
-
So it looks like you have one running then, with the new CPU.
Pics please, and show me the news. -
Where did you get 1.14 BIOS?
-
okay, 1.14 was installed on the fl90. The barebones are from a new Delivery from compal.
First tests confirm that penry T9300 is 5 to 25% faster than the T7700 CPU
