    Hi, does anybody know if Compal has plan to make the FL90 support penryn-based cpus?

    there have been many threads about this..

    the new ones will work with a bios update from them (which isn't out yet)

    they will have a new model notebook with montevina later most likely.. to support the faster FSB penryn natively has

    As I remember there was some BIOS version change that had something about 45nm Intel processor support. I wouldn't be surprised if IFL90 supports them already, but it's better to try once. Maybe someone has a chance to test it with 1.13 bios?

    I can confirm that the FL90 with Bios 1.14 is running without any problems with T9300 ES CPU!

    1.14 is already flashed on my new Fl90 Barebones.

    okay, 1.14 was installed on the fl90. The barebones are from a new Delivery from compal.
    First tests confirm that penry T9300 is 5 to 25% faster than the T7700 CPU :D :D :D

    Compal is replying on every email i have send so waiting for the real answer is just a few minutes away.
    This is al for the new Intel CPU penryn and support for other issues reported here.

    Which kind of other issues reported here? Do you have a changelog?

    Stanby some users reported issues.
    Hibernate depending on OS will, notebook will not resume correctly.
    Charge butten for battery light isn't always going on.
    BIOS update for the Nvidia 8600M GT, to solve the mem leak.
    See other posts from users and you will see more issue are present but not everybody is having the same issues.
