Hello there, a friend of mine and myself both have Zepto 3415W's, in other words rebranded FL90's, we both use drivers from Compal and use Vista x64 Ultimate, and we both get memory leaks with the fingerprint reader software, PSQLTray taking one of the CPU cores and one memory stick (We both got C2D's and 2x1Gb DDR2 sticks) when playing games (WoW, Age of Empires 2, Battlefield 1942, and many many more).

Anyone else experienced this? And if so, did you find any solutions to this?

We have tested changing drivers and software using both Zepto's and Compal's, both to no avail.

It leaks memory on XP as well, regardless of games played. It was flaky enough reading my finger anyways, so I just don't use it, and as long as psqltray.exe isn't seeing any swipes, it doesn't appear to use too much memory*.

*(well, just rebooted today, and haven't swiped my finger at all. TaskManager tells me psqltray.exe is using 42 MB, which is rather piggish).

Hey, I've noticed this too - using Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Sometimes just happens while surfing the net - no games or anything. Haven't found a solution yet... But I'll keep an eye on this topic.

Contact the company of the software by email, they'll provide u with a link to an update that solves it. I did this and it now works perfectly.

Had ths problem myself. Someone suggested going to the support section on the upek website. Sure enough someone got back to me quickly with a download that fixed it right away. Give it a try.

Found the link for the new software and drivers.
The software is updated from version 5.6.2.3447 to 5.6.2.3651.
The driver is updated from version 1.9.2.93 to 1.9.2.101.

The package can be found at this location: http://service1.marasst.com/Compal/JFT00/drivers/Vista/10_fingerprint/5.6.2.3651.zip

Tested this on my own notebook and it's working fine. no memory leak with Vista 32/64Bits version.

The driver is delivered with the new Compal JFT00, so part of this notebook is using the same hardware as the Compal IFL90

Updated the question about the fingerprint memory leak, see post for further details.
