Hey guys,
First off, apparently I'm blind but I can't find a search feature for the forums so if this question has been answered I apologize. I searched 15 pages here on the Compal threads and found nothing.
Anyway, my problem is that I recently had my OS screw up and had to get a new installation. The IT guy at my company heard me mention that I have 4gb of ram and he offered me a spare copy of xp 64bit sitting around collecting dust. Well the xp64's lack of driver support makes Vista's look amazing.
I've made due with 32bit drivers and 3rd party drivers when I couldn't find an official one (nVidia), so the only remaining issue is that none of my USB ports work. In the Device Manager, 7 (5 normal, 2 usb2) USB controllers are listed and look like they should work fine but just below them are 7 conflicts, all listed as "USB Root Hub".
Does anyone have any sort of suggestions? My reseller and Sager both said there's no support for xp64 anymore, but all I need are my usb ports to work.
Thanks in advance guys,
ruyen

Just download this software package and unzip the file, run the installer and check the result.

Thanks for the link reparaqu, but I think I might have been current already. It installed in a split second, no progress bar or anything. It read that it was successful, so I rebooted and still have the same issue with the 'USB Root Hub' conflicts in the device manager and the ports don't seem to work.
Any other ideas? I'd really appreciate any suggestions anyone might have to help. -
Delete all of them in the device manager and reboot. Xp should reinstall them correctly afterward.

Worked like a charm, thanks Ayle. So it couldn't find the drivers when I manually made it look, but deleting them and letting it auto-find them on rebooting and the drivers were found perfectly.

Glad that it worked.
