    Hello group,
I bought the AVERATEC 3270-EH1 today was 1 week and 1 day ago. I bought the first one and it had lots of shinny spots on the screen. So I returned it to Sam's Club the very next day. Now I'm having problems on boot up with this one, I get CPU fan error check it! So I did a search on Google and all the things they say to do would void my warranty. So how do I fix this ??? Anyway, I did not buy a new Laptop just to have to fix all the problems with it even if I did know how. I noticed today it got really hot. So hot I can't stand to touch it. I don't remember the fan coming on either. Other than that it has run fine. All this week I have updated the OS and put all the setting to my likings and now I will have to start all over again with another notebook. Maybe I will take this one back too and get a different brand all together. So sad really it was such a cutie.
    [ :(!]
Hope some one can give me some sort of advise on how fix this and not void my warranty.
    TIA
    Ms Needle

    A few questions;have you...

    a) called Averatec support about this? they likely have some suggestions for you.

b)reinstalled the OS provided and all drivers, or done a reset using Windows system resotre function?

    c) attempeted to contact the POP about this laptop erroring out as well?

Maybe it's just a case of bad luck, and 3rd times a charm. Please let us know what you choose and what happens.

    Cheers,
    DD

Here is what to do to attempt to fix this issue.

boot up the laptop and tap repeatedly on the del key to enter into the bios setup

    click on the advanced tab

    enable Fan Learning

    This should calibrate the fan.

on earlier 3200 it will be located in Power Management setup.

its not necessairly the "del" key to enter the bios, during boot up the post screen should say what key to hit.

That is true however for all 3200 models to enter into the BIOS you will tap on the DEL key.
