Hey guys, this website is great. Anyway I am lookin at getting a Compal HEL80. Just had a few questions. Regarding resellers I have only been able to find three companies that sell it, is there anyway for me to find out all resellers for the HEL80 or does anyone know of them? Also im not sure about the internal TV tuner, does it require a external antenna or does it pick up the signals. Finally, CORSAIR ram, make a diff? Thanks for the help. Take care.

Many resllers offer the HEL80--you are in the US, correct?

Velocity, WidowPC, VooDooPC, Sager, and PC Club all rebrand the HEL80. Zepto also does it, but they're in Europe.

usapatriot answered the RAM question, and powernotebooks.com has some great pictures of the TV tuner with the attached antennae.

Thanks for the input, sorry for that cross post. As far as that reseller is concerned, I'm from the US.

That is pretty cheap, but I have looked all over and it seems once I input my specifications they all come within 50 dollars or less in comparison with each other. Think its worth goin from the 1.83Gz 2mb lache up to the 2Gz 4mb lache?

yes! if not just for the cache. plus the way i see it is you might as well spend a few more to get what you want, then settle, and have to upgrade the cpu later costing more.

however, if you are getting one prebuilt, talk to paladin on here. seems to be really helpful before and after buying from what i have read so far. his site is www.powernotebooks.com

Consider that getting a notebook from a dealer that will give you the support that you need for the life of the notebook may be more important than saving a few bucks. Especially if the difference in price is not much.

If you are trying to save money, then you can go with one of the lower-end Core 2 Duos, like the T5500. Unless you are going to be doing a lot of processor-intensive tasks like number-crunching, you don't really need a higher-end one. Personally I would buy the T7200 if I were shopping right now.

But if I were looking to save money--I'd get the T5500.
