    Hi,

I remember reading about someone else with this problem when I first bought this computer two years ago, but I can't seem to find that topic now using search.

Anyways, I reformatted and reinstalled XP Pro the other day, and now the computer hangs at the Phoenix/Bios screen when I turn it on after leaving it off all night. Not sure if this is luck or sign of an aging HD, but the two times I've run into the problem, I resolved it by turning the computer upside down and back before trying to restart again.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks!

Not that I'm going to help but turning computer upside down is an idea I never heard befeore. But it does makes sense if ur problem is in HDD.

Try reformating again, it won't take too much time.

    P.S. Croatia lost. :(

Maybe there's a wire connection in your PC that's loose? I'd recommend that you have a technician have a peek inside of it. Preferably a technician who also happens to be a friend of yours so you don't have to pay :p

Go into the bios and disable quiet boot or boot logo, it should allow you to see what's going on.

Just to give you guys an update:

I think the problem traces back to Win Xp SP3. I installed SP3 when I reformatted, and afterwards was unable to install further windows updates. When I searched for a solution online, I discovered that a lot of people were having problems with either the computer hanging at the bios, updates not installing, or both following SP3 installation. After uninstalling SP3 and going back to individual updates, I have yet to have a boot issue.
