i got this old zepto 6615wd and i rellay like the damn thing even if it gives me a headache sometimes, anyway the gpu died (artifacts). so i tried to fix it by heating it and well i killed it completely. and i've been on a hunt after a gpu since then. but the thing is its got some weird mxm format and although it seems possible to install a normal one, i have no idea what it would do to the crappy cooling it already has. so does anyone know where i can get a gpu for the 6615wd?

The 6615WD will only run with a graphics card exactly a like the one already in the machine (all the way down to version number).
You can't upgrade it to anything else.
Regarding whre to get a 7600Go card for it... beats me... I have no clue.

Well it's been tried with different video cards and it won't work. The System BIOS contains information about which graphics card is supported and nothing else will work. The machine won't even boot with another MXM graphics card connected.

so even if i get a new exactly like the old one it wont work? or is it just the "normal" mxm card are blocked?
and there is no way to override that block?

its been done with other inventec computers? why not this one? damn, my good old luck strikes again...

An exact one like the old one will work. Normal MXM is s no-go.

Which other Inventec computers are you referring to? None of the Inventec models sold by Zepto where able to run with other graphics cards than the type they where sold and repaired with.

i'm not sure, it was like 2-3 years ago when i bought my 3215w. i couldnt decide between the 6224(inventec) and the 3215w(compal). i was googling what company made the zeptos. i have a pic somewhere though, i'll check my old lappy.
what i do remember is that it was 15 inch notebook and the guy swapped the 8600m gt gpu to a ati 3650/3670.the mxm port was at the bottom i think, not sure though... and i think you're probably right, it wasnt a zepto model.

EDIT: i sent a mail to zepto usa in case they have spares but i doubt it. zeptos stock went down with with the company. and the company that handled the bankruptcy wouldn't give me the number or mail to their daughter company who auctioned it out. what can i say, jerks... i'm gonna take a trip down to denmark anyway. i'll try to track them down.

Zepto had the 3215W (Compal FL91) and 3415W (Compal FL90/FL92).
The 3415W had a 8600M GT which can be swapped with a ATI 3650/4650.

Their parter at the end regarding spareparts and new models where Rosenmeier Electronics. I don't know how much they've got left, but they only had newer parts like from the Nox line and onwards, not for the older models (pre summer 2009). For the older models, Zepto was the only ones that had parts.
