The usual Geforce "8" issue -> Overheating.

The laptop runs fine as long as the GPU is running with the latest Nvidia drivers (August 2016) on the lowest clockrates, once it shifts up to higher clockrates the temps go beyond the 90°C limit and the laptop is overheating.

Is there any possibility to FORCE the 2D mode / low clockrates ( 1. gear)? I know there are vBIOS mods which allow custom clockrates for each level, but I wan't to avoid any vBIOS mods on a soldered GPU.

Is it possible to enforce the low clockrates (Powersave mode) via software level)?
