    Hi laptop guys :D

Eventually I found this bad- specification laptop for a bargain price, though I have never heard of a manufacturer called Generic. I just love reading the spec list, but when I see the name - I get confused. Is it a chinese never-heard-of-laptop with a plastic and turdy body and with a 100% gaming built hardware, or what? Here's the link:

    http://http://www.amazon.co.uk/Generic-Gaming-Laptop-i7-4710MQ-Geforce/dp/B00M4DZCZ4/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1407848925&sr=1-4

Please explain it so that I could calmly sleep :D

    cheers

Bit late and link's dead, but assuming it's this one ...
Generic 17.3" Hd LED Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7-4710MQ 3.5GHz 4gb RAM 1TB HDD Nvidia Geforce Gt750m 2g DDR5 DVDRW Hdmi Camera Windows 8 Pro

... then it's the very famous YunSen :vbtongue: (similar offer here) which is, looking at their product line, a Clevo reseller. This specific Generic 17.3" is a W670S*Q series (the * depends on the soldered dGPU, if any).

Funny, really ... not sure which site is fishier; YunSen's or Clevo's ... gotta love how they both use stock photo's; YunSen to suggest they have an office (instead of being home-based) and Clevo to suggest they have a cross-section of white employees (in Taiwan). That same shiny office building appears to house 166 other businesses and those same 4 employees are time-shared with 431 other employers ...

Good thing about Clevo is that this keeps cost down; website@$5/month (also considering their driver-download speed) and marketing@$0, result; 1% fluff, 99% product. Kinda the polar-opposite of < brand-X>, come to think of it.
