Anyone swap out their existing card with one of these? Recently purchased one but it doesn't register with the system at all, thinking its DOA as it was used. Any thoughts? (No it doesn't register in the system at all, its as if the slot is empty). The existing Intel 3945ABG works fine (just adding the 5300 for the N support).

It may be a bad card if it shows nothing at all. You might try removing the driver for the 3945ABG, then install the driver for the 5300, then reinstall the 5300 card, and see if that does anything. Try cycling FN+F2 a few times as well just for kicks.

This thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=329033&page=1 deals with the similar problem of getting the 5300 working on the FL90. From all accounts it is at least detected, even if it performs poorly.

Yeah I tried it under Linux as well. Just completely not seen. As I said, its as if its just not even in the socket.

Guess I'll just go with a low profile USB based one.

There's no reason why it wouldn't at least be detected. I think you got a bad card.
