I did this test just to see where are the biggest gains and improvements, out of curiosity. Pretty much this is already known or done maybe but... :). So I did a fresh WinXP install, newest drivers and here it is.

    Specs: Forcebook Compal HEL80, Drivers 97.92, T7200 2.0GHz, 2GB Ram 667MHz, 1280x800, Fujitsu MHW2120BH 120GB, nVidia 7600Go

Conclusion: as you can see the biggest improvement is after installing Windows Hotfix, which is clearly visible in 3DMark 05 CPU Score(I marked it with bold). I guess this is due to the fact that 3DMark 05 is older and doesn't use two cores as 3DMark 06 so the Hotfix helps(maybe I'm wrong, please correct me if I am). After that the score is pretty much the same. BUT, booting time was significally longer after install of SP3, like 20sec longer. Based on this I wouldn't suggest installing SP3 if you are looking for performance over security. Windows Hotfix KB896265 is included in SP3 and there is also a nice guide on this forum about installing only this update.

I remember before updating BIOs to 123B I was able to overclock about 20-30MHz lower than presented here. So you would want to update BIOs if you want more overclocking but it said many times not to update BIOS if everything is working fine. Well I did and got even better notebook.

Hope this will be interesting reading for someone. Feedbacks are welcome. Soon I will do the same test with my new JFL92 except with maybe no SP3. If anyone knows of any other Hotfix, update that is improving performance please post in this thread so that I can include it in JFL92 bench.
