Although I believe my bluetooth is installed correctly. I cannot physically use the bluetooth on the computer. It wont search for devices such as my bluetooth mouse or allow it to be turned on for discovery from my mobile phone. Please help.

Well I self don't use the broadcom bluetooth software because it gave me a lot of problems with my Nokia 6630 phone. I have used only the Broadcom's drivers with Microsoft's bluetooth software and they work better at least with the phone.

Do you have Bluetooth enabled on your WSS? (The Red W in your taskbar)

Usually yes, I have turned the wireless switch on at the front of the notebook and enabled the device by FN+F2 many a time. However I just noticed just now that flipping the switch had no effect. Only the wireless lan was showing in the WSS menu. Thats odd.

Update: A restart sorted the switch, bluetooth is enabled. But cant use it. Now it wont even show in the device manager. This thing is really acting stupid. Doesn't know if its coming or going.

Are you near a microwave? They are on the same frequency and will cancel out bluetooth because they are higher power devices.

I have this problem as well. I have a Logitech MX5000 and MX1000 and i can only get them recognized with a bluetooth adapter. My bluetooth is turned on but I cant get it to recognize any devices. However when i go through my adapter it recognizes my built in bluetooth as a device, so it is working.. any ideas?

Not sure if anyone has found a fix or not, but to chime in....I too have a logitech bluetooth mouse. It is recognized by the HEL80 (Broadcom) bluetooth, but when I try to connect it times out. Any thoughts? I did check out the mouse on my Dell Inspiron 9300 (being replaced by the HEL80) and it connected immediately. Couldn't help but notice that the Dell's Bluetooth controller was a Broadcom as well. What gives?
