I've had a powerpro 8:15 (HEL 80) for almost 4 years now. That whole time, I've used a PCMCIA wireless card (I had one when I bought it and my budget was tight so I didn't pay for the internal card). Running windows 7 64-bit.

Now that the PCMCIA card has given out, I decided to order an Intel 3945abg. I installed the card, but it doesn't seem to be detected. I took it out and made sure it was properly seated, but to no avail. What I'm trying to figure out with this post is if I'm overlooking a step or if the card is probably just DOA.

I've installed the intel drivers for the card and the wireless select switch. After installing the WSS I get an error that it can't find a dll, but I've copied that dll from ProgramData to the WSS folder (per instructions I found searching this forum) The WSS version is 1.43.0.9. After I copied over the DLL the WSS program runs, but it says Bluetooth and Wirless LAN are disabled (I don't have bluetooth). Hitting fn+f2 and flipping the wireless switch on the front of the computer do nothing with respect to the machine finding the card I installed.

Could windows not be detected the network card because the switch is (apparently) set at disabled? Or is that not how it works? (I've never used the switch software since I always used the pcmcia card)

Is there something else I should be doing that I haven't thought of? I haven't found anything in the bios that looks relevant (the bios options are pretty sparse).

    Thanks!

P.S. When I went to install the card, there was only one antenna plug (gray) - is that normal?
