Mokay,
So if you remember, I was having a battery problem with my HEL80 9 cell. Basically, at full charge it would get me about 1/2 hour of life, and Ubuntu gave me a warning saying that my battery capacity was like 20%. Anyways, I haven't done much traveling without there being a plug in. However, recently my computer has stopped turning on with the battery. The battery wont charge. Now, when I try to turn on my laptop with the AC plugged in..it wont.. However, If I take out my battery entirely, it works fine with the AC. However, this is not good, because when I'm on the planes DC power I cant play games because the power draw is too high so my laptop just shuts off. Anyways, is there anything i can do? I should just get a new battery but they're like $200, ughh.
Thnx.
James

I think your battery went to heaven. I had almost the same problem when my battery didn't wanted to charge, just that my laptop would start normally even with the battery inside. You could try program called Everest(if you're not already using it) and in power management check the battery wear level. Start the laptop, plug your batt after start and then check.
On one other notebook I experienced freezing when the battery would be plugged in. -
my battery lasts about 10-15minutes

Get a new battery. They run about $60 i believe. Check www.powernotebooks.com and www.xoticpc.com
edit:i'm sorry its $65 for the adapter. The battery is $130 for a 9cell and $105 for 6 cell
