    Hi

After reading all the rave reviews of the HEL80, i decided its the laptop for me.. So I bought a HEL80 whitebook through NCIX here in canada, 2 1 gb strips of OCZ PC2-4200 DDR2-533 ram, a T7200 chip, 80 gb 7200 rpm sata hard drive, and a pioneer K16 dual layer dvd burner. Got all the parts home, put em all together, switched it on.....

and the display does nothing. not a **** thing, doesn't even light up... The led's on the front of the notebook light up, dvd rom spins up, fan spins up, no display. at all.

I'm totally at a loss as to what to do about this... If someone could please help me, i would be forever in your debt...

Bios may not support the core 2 duo chip. There's a thread on it here somewhere...

If you've got a bios that supports core 2 duo, then I'd triple check your connections.

edit: removed mention of how many wires I saw in various places, because upon a little closer inspection, I've concluded they're wrong and I don't feel up to completely disassembling my laptop right now. :D
