I would like to know how hot the HEL80's CPU and HD run at idle, casual use like surfing the web, and during a full or heavy load. I can't seem to find any information regarding the temp. Thanks.

I'vee just run SpeedFan and its coming up with 45C which seems pretty high to me but there is no heat on the underside of the laptop... and the GPU says its running at 60C...

The GPU seems a bit hot but if the 45C was the CPU, that's pretty cool actually. My desktop CPU runs 53C idle... But my hard drive on the other hand runs 34C. Are your temperatures at idle? I'm only asking since I'm concerned that intense heat might shorten the life of the notebook. I'm currently shopping around at the moment so any information will help me out. Thanks for the reply.

it was just surfing the net and with u know im programs open etc... but its the same now and i've had it on since i posted earlier but there is hardly any warm heat coming out from the fans we have the a/c on in here and my hands are cold as anything and there is only minimal amounts of heat on them when i put it against the fan... same with underneath

Is that 45C for the CPU and 60 for the GPU?
I have no idea about the GPU but 45 for CPU is not hot at all.
Have you determined at what temperature the fans start blowing and when they stop?
What are the temperatures for the hard drive? (And what is the RPM speed of your hard drive?)

Have you tried MobileMeter and see if it works with the Duo?

It's a nice little prog and it will give you graphics so you can see the temperature fluctuations and you can answer my questions above if you dont want to pay attention to the fans.
