Does it correct it, or just cause the touchpad to use the default Windows drivers?

I've been trying v. 5.0.3.13. At first it didn't seem to fix the scrolling problem, but after a reboot it appears to work fine. The multi-tap is working as well as the disable while typing.

Edit:Actually sometimes the touchpad seems to 'stick' but not very often. And yes, I'm running it on XP Home.

Atook, the driver 5.0.3.13 is for Vista only, isn't it? Have you tried it with WinXP? Would be pretty cool, if they may work with XP!
EDIT: I made some very bad mistake ... i got 5.1.3.13 and didn't mention that it is an other driver ... the driver is p.ex. available in the (I)FL90/91 section of Compals driver-download-page ...
Update: The new driver installs, but the KTP-Ware dialog is missing now ... only the windows-mouse-dialog is available :(

Dang it, after a little more testing(v. 5.0.3.13), it turns out there are still issues when 'disable tapping while typing' is checked. But at least the cursor doesn't jump to the scroll bar.

Could you explain, how you get access to the KTP-Ware dialogue?
    I did the following:
    • Installing the driver version you posted
    • Installing only the driver itself, without calling the setup and without changing the KTP-Ware-app
    • Installing the newest version and restoring the old KTP-Ware
    • Using the newest KTP-Ware with the old driver
Equally what i do, i'm getting the old driver with the old bugs, or i'm getting the new driver with the Windows-Mouse-Dialogue, without any possibilities for setting up the touchpad the way it should be.

I uninstalled KTP-ware, then installed the new one using the enclosed setup, then rebooted. As long as I don't have 'disable while typing' checked, scrolling works perfect.

Ok, it was a very hard fight ... but now, it works! (Even the 'disable while typing' feature is working! -=# EDIT: Damn, after the first reboot, it doesn't work anymore ... no 'disable while typing' anymore #=-)
The background of my problems was, that the installer only copied the drivers, but not the KTP-Ware ... weird, it told me, that the setup was complete and successful.
The following steps solved my problem:
    1. Uninstall the old driver
    2. Install the last working driver (v3.0.3.8, from Compal/Bizcom)
    3. Kill the process KTP.exe, if running
    4. Get the driver v3.0.3.13 from the IFL90 dowload-page (i got it from intel.com)
    5. Unpack the downloaded archive
    6. Install the driver via "Device Manager" ... you could find a translated guide in the (unpacked) archive. (The subdirs named like "ENU", "FRA", "DEU" contain the language specific files like the readme)
    7. Copy the files listed in the "CopyFile.ini" into the Elantech-driver-directory (mostly: "%programfiles%\elantech). The files in the section "Local" are in the directory, where the setup-files are located. The "Language"-files are in the subdir matching to your language.
    8. Reboot and be happy!

anyone having the issue of the 50% usage still.. these elantech drivers suck.. and the generic synaptics just doesnt let me scroll for some reason no matter what i do.. it still sees it as a generix ps/2 wheel mouse even with the synaptics

there is no option to enable them when i install the synaptics. it will not let me add them it says it can not find the right files and or hardware. and after installing the synaptics it says synaptics in the device manager but it only has the option for a regular ps/2 wheel mouse. there is no touchpad option available, the only things i can see are the normal ps2 mouse settings.

Believe it or not, that is the touchpad, so just check the scrolling and other features.

Does it work now? Remember the scrolling feature is in the right site of the touchpad.
