Hey, I just ordered an HEL80, and I've heard that there are a few things that you need to do to get it running optimally. I'm not sure exactly what it was but could we maybe list some of the things that are recommended when you get this notebook new. (I'll be receiving it pre-built, but I will be installing windows on it myself).

    Cheers

I'd recommend putting some doublesided tape underneath the keyboard if you find the flex annoying. There's also been a few people who've had issues with windows and suspending / resuming. Microsoft has released a hotfix for those. They aren't exactly tweaks, but they might fall under your question anyways.

My screen doesn't come back on after it shuts down. It comes back on from standby just fine, but if the screen turns off as part of power saving, it wont come back on.. will this fix that?

just noticed mine didn't have that stuff, putting it on now (I'm not just posting this so I don't have to go digging for it.... I swear)

gah, so I started playing with that bootvis thing... now my comps not listening when I tell it to shut down. happened after I hit optimize, except It didn't really start to do anything. guess I'll give it a few minutes

well, seems it was msconfig, I tried stopping bootskin, nerocheck, and autocad startup accelerator from loading at start up. guess I'll try to see which one was cuasing the problem, my monies on bootskin, that and it has yet to change my loading screen anyways.

(why does the computer make a sound like I just hit it over the head when I hold down the power to shut it off, can't be that painful....)

    (yep, it was bootskin)
