Just got my new HEL80 and before I started installing all my software, I thought I would run some benchmarks. Ran SuperPI and got a time of 1m50s. That didn't seem right for a T7200 so I ran it a couple more times. Same results. Downloaded CPU-Z to check the CPU information and it is a Merom T7200, but I noticed that the Core Speed was running at 997.5MHz. This is with the system plugged in. Ocassionaly while SuperPi was running I would see the speed jumped to 1995MHz, but for the most part it was half that speed. Thought I would try it will running on battery power and as soon as I unplugged the power adapter the core speed jumped to 1995MHz and stayed there. Under battery power the SuperPI score was 1m03s, which is about what I would expect.

So what is up with my system. I would expect my results to be just opposite of what i got, slower under battery power, but faster when plugged in. Anyone have any ideas on this one?

Thanks in advance for any help and I apologize for my long ramblings.

Gophn, Thanks for the link. I will check it out. Still not sure if that will help the fact that my system runs at full speed while on battery power and downclocks while running while plugged into an outlet. I would expect the opposite behaviour to help conserve the battery. On battery power the speed does not drop at all. Almost as if the power profiles or something is backwards. Possibly a BIOS issue?

Mine did that at first, then after I got all drivers installed, it went correct. I suspect maybe something with the Mobo drivers.

I managed 1'01" in SPi. I'n trying to get <1 min just for the sake of doing so, but it's difficult since I cannot OC it.
