Hi,
I know this has probably been asked before, but how do you avoid Windows from going into some sort of a weird standby mode when I close the laptop lid? What happens is that I close the lid, and the screen goes black, and when I reopen the lid the pc is still on and fine, but the screen never turns on back again, and so I can only shut the pc down. I read that this could be solved by installing some weird drivers but I was wondering if there was a way to avoid that.
The actual standby mode works fine and I manage to resume from it great. Also, I set Windows to do absolutely nothing when I close the lid, in the power settings.
My drivers are 93.71 with a modified inf from laptopvideo2go. I use those and not the official nvidia laptop drivers because they allow me to create wide-screen resolutions so that games like Supreme Commander recognize the actual 16:10 nature of the screen.
Thanks!

Here's a link to my HEL80 review. I have a link to the hotfix file that you will need to fix this issue in it.

Sorry about that. I know there is a hotfix name for it. A quick search in the Compal forum for black screen + hotfix would likely give you the name. Most of them have the same link though so it might take a quick google to find the file you're looking for.
Good luck. -
I just reinstalled this fix myself, since I had to reinstall Windows on the new hard drive. You want KB917332.

You can find it here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/ms_kbs/

I gave the "contact Microsoft" link again.
