I have no idea what this means. It's the battery light. If you plug the laptop in to charge, the light is orange if it's charging, and green if it's fully charged. The light is off if it is unplugged from a wall outlet.

HERE IS THE PROBLEM. Recently when I plug the laptop in, the light flashes orange, which has never happened before. I'm also not sure if the battery is charging properly. I'm thinking it could need replacing. Can someone explain to me what the orange flashing light indicates?

It could be either that your battery is dying or that your power adapter is defective, for exemple on my ifl91 it only flashes when I try to use a power adapter that doesn't have a high enough voltage.

It could be a host of problems actually, my girlfriends laptop had this same issue on a different model of laptops but I quickly discovered the problem was one of the pins inside the laptop that connects to the cable past the main pin was bent.

Tell me, does your battery charge right? Is it charging at all? How long have you had your laptop? Try to narrow in on the problem by trying different combinations! Find a friend with a cable that will work with your laptop and see if that fixes the problem. If not, try with a new battery, if still no move up and take a look inside your computer (only if you know what you're doing!)

You'll quickly discover the culprit behind the problem. :)
