Ok, this is a bit weird. I set up the Suspend key to hibernate..usual for me, I like having a hot key for it. Thing is, every time it comes back up, the AMCAP is running, and the webcam is on, and I see myself smiling back at myself on the screen! (Actually, the first time it was more like scratching my head).

Anyone run across this when coming back from hibernate? Maybe it's just a consequence of the FN key combo I'm using, but it still seems a bit strange.

    It's not a consequence, it's a value added bonus feature! :p

Thats actually symbolism... See... technically errors should be red... because they make you angry, and psychology has proven that red is an "anger driving color", so combined they are perfect.. The OS company in mention however made it blue, which is psychologically proven as a "soothing color". So its really just a ploy to get you to not get as angry at them when things can and do go wrong... :D

It's much like an "OK" dialog box that reports something is broken... Why call it OK? By clicking OK I'm basically suggesting that I'm alright with there being a problem, however that is rarely the case... :p
Perhaps a "Fine, whatever" button is more appropriate? :D

Why do I suddenly sense there's a hippie commune in Redmond, WA? :D

    Hehe...

Well, back on topic.. what is AMCAP? Is that part of your install disk software?

I was basically thinking, try uninstalling it and using your hotkey... see what happens then.

Also, does this app do this when you got hit start > shutdown > hibernate...(hold shift to make it visible)

I could build you tiny program that would hibernate your system that you could use side-walker to call? Take me less then 30 seconds.

AMCAP is a piece of capture software that comes with the webcam drivers...and it's completely useless since MediaOffice is a more robust program. ;) I wonder if I can just uninstall it and leave the drivers in.

Incidentally, it didn't happen coming back this time. It might just be a once-in-a-while thing, but it seems pretty wierd.
