Is the SD reader for the HGL30 able to use readyboost (with the proper SD card)?

Don't see why not? It's just a removable memory stick.

Oh ok, I just thought I remembered reading somewhere that vista doesn't support readyboost with certain SD card readers. But if I can use the SD reader on the HGL30, I'll just set it and forget it, since the card doesn't tend to stick out too much...

Anyone know how fast the SD card has to be to support readyboost? Could I use this?
