I bought my laptop about a year ago and is more than happy with it. When I first got it I realized that my wireless could detect networks, but it can never connect to it. After messing with the settings, I finally managed to get it working by turning off bluetooth through the compal wifi switch program. This was ok at the time because I didnt have anything that uses bluetooth.

I recently got a new bluetooth phone and wanted to test out the bluetooth, and the problem still exists. It appears to me that the bluetooth is interfering with the wiressless somehow. I dont think this is a software problem because it does the same thing while in Linux (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Debian, and Arch from what I tested). The bluetooth always work, as long as its on, while the wireless only works when the bluetooth is off. Does anyone know whats going on?

I would say that they are interfering with each other, but bluetooth was designed not to. If you have a 3 year warranty on it, maybe you should send it in.

BT and WiFi operate in the same frequency band, but BT should be able to handle that, especially since they introduced addaptive hopping.

You could try setting your WiFi to another channel and see what goes but I agree: if you can call warranty then do so.

Does anyone know where to get the HGL30 disassembly guide, I plan on maybe replacing my wireless card and bluetooth module to see if the problem persists. Thanks.
