I wonder if the Turion based model will be cheaper than the Centrino since that was the whole point that it was based on.

cool man, thanks for the links to that product info! wish they had prices listed on there though

Abaxter (Andrew) or anyone else...
Basically you have most the specs so I don't hve to write all that but not the prices which are reasonable, fair! I also didn't see anything mentioned about what they say and I'm quoting ... "snazzy" design features such as a white keyboard and either "jet blue" or "burgundy" external shell. As opposed to just "black bricks".
Those on quoted and written the way the article states...exactly. The prices are fair! They should be out right about now for people to buy! So I saw myself and the article saids. I might be getting one. Hopefully! They are nice for a change from big names like Dell. I'm impressed! The prices are not bad.
Please contact me,I would apreciate it! I don't know if it's worth it for me to post but without having to write the entire thing maybe. There are only 2 other people on the thread and I don't know if anyone wants more info or not! you mentioned wanting to know the prices which you might know now.
This is "Edited" by me and I still haven't heard a thing from the contact form or my email sent, so it makes me wonder!
Why don't you answer or contact me concerning this topic and my email/contact questions ? I was thinking it was a technical issue but I'm wondering now.
Contact me,it would be appreciated and actually expected, please!

heartofgold - Is it possible for you to just post the prices for each of the 4 models? I would pm you but I am new to this forum and I could not find the pm option.
Thanks -
Staples already advertised the price for the centrino based 4000 laptop. It was $999 after $200 in rebates ($100 instant and $100 Easy rebates). It was on sale over the weekend and probably still is.
The one that I am curious about is the Turion based 4000 series. -
I'm sorry I can't help you. I told you I would spend over an hour and write the entire article for you by hand but if you look at the specs already posted that they are similar but I didn't look them close enough. Well I did look before and while I continued writing what I did to you with the prices. I told you that I would do it later if you asked me or wanted every single detail/all the specs with the turion model included. We were talking about the specs shown above because I was too tired to write every option, variation ,detail,processor,etc...butI wrote what I could and said "here hopfully this was enough for now". The prices are correct. My information included all models dicussed in the thread and links above. I told you if you wanted every single detail word for word I would do it if asked. The prices I gave you included that model. I couldn't write down every detail and explain earlier.
I told you I needed until tonight. Yet I still went out of my way until later tonight when I was going to spend a longer time writing the entire article, the details of every single thing so you knew what prices went where and what model had what,etc...
It's now deleted what took over a half hour to write when I told you I was too tired but tried to be nice and hold you over until later.
Not even a thank you and yes please give me more info ,although the prices still are the same starting prices for all 4 models that I gave you originally.
I'm sorry I'm not the one to help you. If you didn't understand let alone appreciate what I wrote to hold you over when I wanted to wait so I could have written it more appropiately, you should have ignored my post not even bothering to comment I was helping but not as efficient as if you had just waited and then you would have rceivd more specs, info on the AMD64 MT 30 processor........which I believe is what you are interested in.
You did this exact thing to me on the HP forum! I'm not the one that can help you! I went out of my way before for you and the same thing. You're not real rude straight out but why bother with me since you keep telling me I'm incorrect.
No hard feelings but don't ask me if you don't want my info..
I'm sorry I can't help you,

Only 3 usb ports is kind of lame. Wonder if it has S-Video out...

jmsync,
These are extreme budget notebooks. Try looking at the first post and It'll give you specs on the newest, which are really neat and affordable but there is a link to their Website and you will see all the specs/details. They come with alot for how little you pay. Don't expect a high end gaming/media center but something you can find all over the internet for under $1000 with enough features to carry around a extremely light functional notebook. I'm getting one of the new ones for a second little notebook. I've never owned a little widescreen between 10-13.3" and for the price I think it would be great for a change! The ones I really would want are both $2600.00...so that's not an option or neccessity!
You must not have looked at the links or the Website so you could find out what the details are. For those of you that use it for a primary notebook ,no offense intended when I said it would be great for a second notebook (a backup one for me for fun or in case of repairs w/primary one).

I did check the links, but it wasnt until I checked the Staples link that I found out the 4265 version does indeed have an s-video, which I am glad it does. So I am just waiting for the Turion version to come out and see how it will be priced, assuming it will have same ports, etc.

Staples at US is now selling the Averatec 4255 (P-M 1.6GHz) for $999 + TAX ($1199 - $100 (instant) - $100 (mail in)). The build quality is really good.
I am waiting for the Averatec 4155 of AMD Turion 64; its list price is about $100 less than the above 4255 model with better 64 bit processor and supposedly better processing speed.
I can't wait to see a full comparison review of these two models : 4255 vs 4155 - the best systems to compare head to head between Pentium M (sonoma) and Turion64. The two models have exactly the same DDR RAM, 80GB HD and built by the same company, the ultimate speed difference can be easily controlled by the CPUs and the chipsets. Also, the two CPUs in 4255 and 4155 are clocked at 1.6GHz. -
Glad you found all the info you guys need,I know you didn't! It's too bad that I spent so long writing a tiny part of a article for Imacyco. I deleted it. It was a tiny part to try and hold Imacyco over until later in the evening when gladly at that point I would have written it out by hand . It describes every single difference, all the specs, details and the starting prices. So what if one out of several models mentioned I didn't specifically get a chance to write AMD M Turion the way Imacyco preferred.
I'm sorry because I have all the info and there's no way I would write the entire thing now. I have 2 previous articles (before Wednesday when I now have an updated one) with the same prices but one had extreme details/comparisons. I know about what Staples has. It's literally 2 minutes from my home. I saw the ad. It saddens me that now It's a tease me stating I have everything you would want/need to know after I had already spent so much time writing what I could until later that night.
Sorry,

I just purchased the Averatec 4265 and have been pleased with it so far (just few hours playing with it), but just now I read the user manual and it says the battery is only good for 300 charges. I'm a student so I use and charge my laptop everyday. So in 300 days I'll have to buy a new battery for this laptop and the warranty only covers the batter for 6 months(180 days). I called Averatec's customer service and they confirmed this. I'm returning mine tomorrow. I'm not going to buy a new battery every year. That's ridiculous.
