    Hard Drive Error... HELP!!!!!

    :( The other day i started up my Hel-80 and i got this werid message:

    SMART Failure Predicted On Hard Disk 0: WDC WDC800BEVS-22LAT0-(S1)

    WARNING: Immediately Back-up your data and replace your hard hisk drive. A failure may be imminent.

    Press F1 to Continue

    I just got this laptop from IBUYPOWER in November. I also run SPEEDFAN and it says my SMART tables on the HD are fine... Is this just a glitch that a format will fix or is my HD screwd?? Help Plz!!! :confused:

    Your hard drive is probably failing. SMART codes are set when the hard drive detects errors on itself. You might consider booting from a Linux LiveCD and checking the actual SMART error with smartmon or one of the other tools available. I would call IBUYPOWER and tell them, and see if they'll replace your hard drive. It shouldn't run into these issues this soon.

    Has anyone had any issues with IBUYPOWER IN THE PAST? it seems like they are giving me the runaround. I can never get ahold of them its always busy or just keeps ringing. I also sent them an email about a week ago and i still havent gotten anything back from them. I want my HD fixed or replaced. This really sux.
