I recently had a problem with my 6625, in which it produced an extremely loud noise from the fan when starting, and then would not boot because of a missing system file, I believe it said. I had this examined by a repairman, who informed me that the hard disk had been damaged by a fan running too hot. Luckily the data is still on there so I can take the disk out and take the data off onto another PC.

Unfortunately it was over a year ago I bought it, so it is out of UK warranty. I'm not sure where I stand under EU warranty really.

What I'd like to know is if anyone else has suffered this problem? If I replace the hard disk and clean out the fan or something, is this problem likely to come back? Or is it an inherent fault with that laptop? Will I need to send it to Zepto for other repairs, and if so how much will this likely cost?
