Once you remove the HD Bay cover you'll find a mylar tab on the HD. Pull it up gently and I mean gently. It'll come out then.

hey thanks alot for the response i appreciate it.
i have to admit i am pretty clueless with all of this sort of stuff.i am not sure what the mylar tab is or looks like?i have an idea of what the hd may look like but not quite sure on that either.here is a picuture of what im workin with...is the hd visible here or do i need to further dissasemble the computer?

A mylar tab is a small plastic tab..Well I have a compaq and my HD bay is located on the left bottom in a separate slot. So I can remove the HD very conveniently. Yup I guess u'll have to disassemble further. Make sure you know what you're doing.

Your HDD isn't apparent in that picture, which means to me that it is located underneath the keyboard. I am not familiar with the particulars of this notebook, or how to remove the keyboard, but if you ask around or google an assembly guide it should show you. Then this stuff should become apparent.

looks like that whole botom assembly comes off if you undo the screws located near the corners and center/sides. from there you should be able to get to it

I thought that too, except usually there is a little HDD symbol on the bottom (it looks like three disks stacked on top of eachother) somewhere to denote where it is.
