    Hi guys,
I just set up a friends notebook to dual boot between Vista and XP. I want to set up my HEL80 to do same.
At the same time I'm planning to swap in a 250gb hard drive.
What I want to do is clone my XP partition to the new HD and install Vista on another partition.
I am familiar with cloning the data from an old bootable drive to the new one in desktops. How can I do this with a notebook HD.
I know a clean install would be simpler but I just don't have the time to go through all the downloading, installing and rebooting.
    Any suggestions?

Get a 2.5" enclosure and use that to do the cloning. I used Acronis true image to do it. The procedure is somewhat simple.

He is referring to a USB External Hard Drive Enclosure (2.5" is the size for a notebook hard drive)

Yes, I see, is the protecting enclosure, yes that's a good hardware to have, he just have to make sure to get the appropriate one, the right size.

Hi niss nut, I had to do the same operation and I used the sabrent usb-dsc5 serial ATA (SATA) or IDE 2.5" and 3.5" to USB 2.0 cable converter adapter, $19.99 at newegg. It worked very well.
